San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president Ramon S. Ang was true to his word and provided Tokyo Olympic medalists Eumir Marcial, Carlo Paalam, and Nesthy Petecio with cash incentives.

Ang personally gave 2 million pesos to Marcial for his bronze medal finish and 5 million pesos each to Paalam and Petecio after clinching the silver medal in the quadrennial meet.

Also, Ang promised the three of any business of their choice that they can put up when they come home to their respective provinces: Marcial in Zamboanga City, Paalam in Cagayan de Oro, and Petecio in Davao Del Sur.

“As we wish them further success in boxing in the coming Olympics and in Eumir’s case, his next professional bout, we also taking steps to further secure their future with the San Miguel businesses of their choice,” Ang said.

Meanwhile, the country’s first-ever Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz already received her 10 million-pesos cash from SMC and Ang.

Before leaving, the business tycoon wished the athletes that they can all consistently perform in the next edition of the Olympics four years after.

“At a time when our country is seeing the initial signs of hope to recover from the pandemic, our Olympic medalists continue to inspire us to do our best and rise above all difficulties,” Ang added.
