San Agustin hosts International Seminar on Global History and Construction of Global Citizenship

The University of San Agustin (USA) is hosting the Seminar on Global History and the Construction of Global Citizenship on May 18-20 to 23-26 2022 at Hotel Sta. Monica, University of San Agustin, Iloilo City.

The seminar is part of the activities of the consortium of five Filipino and four European institutions, including USA, that compose the “Capacity building for Legal and Social Advancement in the Philippines” or Calesa Consortium under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building High Education Project (609668-EPP-1-2019-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP [2019 – 2012/001 – 001]) of the European Union.

Among the dignitaries who are gracing the event is the coordinator of the CALESA Project, Dr. Jose Manuel de Torres Perea, of the Facultad de Derecho, Universidad de Malaga, Spain.

This CALESA Seminar is the first international event that the University is holding after the hiatus brought about by the CoVid-19 pandemic. The Seminar covers a wide range of topics about global citizenship construction and global history.

The event is hybrid: Professors Wulff, Calvo, and Garcia will be delivering their lectures in person before physical attendees at the University of San Agustin, while Fr. de Castro and Ms. Cañones and other attendees are joining via Zoom.
