San Agustin Writers Workshop names ten fellows

The Fray Luis de Leon Creative Writing Institute at the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education (CLASE), University of San Agustin (USA) is pleased to announce the ten San Agustin Writers Workshop fellows who have been selected from nearly forty applicants. The workshop is scheduled for November 13-15 at USA.

The workshop this year coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the Workshop, which will be celebrated during the Alumni Night to be held on November 16 (attendance is by invitation).

The writing fellows are Domingo M. Aguillon III (Negros Occidental; Short Story), Karen H. Francisco (Lemery, Iloilo; Short Story), Robin Angelo Yankin (Iloilo City; Short Story), Roeyna May Famisaran (Miag-ao, Iloilo; Creative Nonfiction), Hannamae G. Aling (Miag-ao, Iloilo; Creative Nonfiction), Eric D. Morguia, Jr. (Dao, Capiz; Creative Nonfiction), Adonis C. Gonzales (Calinog, Iloilo; Poetry), Carla Faith M. Aquino (Tobias Fornier, Antique; Poetry in), Lester Piad (Iloilo City; Poetry), and Ma Cecilia Alimen (Iloilo City; Poetry).

The panelists for this year are Noel Galon de Leon (Workshop Director), John Iremil Teodoro, Ph.D. (Deputy Workshop Director), Isidoro M. Cruz, Ph.D. (Deputy Project Director), Dulce Maria V. Deriada, Criselda Yabes, and Early Sol Gadong.

May Anne T. Jaro, Ph.D. serves as the Project Director, with Josefina E. Pelingon manning the Secretariat. The SAWW is a project of CLASE, headed by Dean Nenelyn D. De la Fuente, Ph.D.

All SAWW alumni have been invited to attend the Alumni Night.
