American reinforcement Jordan Adams was a one-man wrecking machine after leading the San Miguel Beermen to a lopsided 128-108 victory over the Blackwater Bossing in the ongoing PBA Governor’s Cup on August 25, 2024, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The former sniper of the UCLA Bruins torched the struggling Blackwater squad after dropping 50 points built from an efficient 6/10 shooting from the three-point line to go alongside 11 rebounds.

After the first half, the mighty Beermen surprisingly trailed at the hands of the All-Filipino Blackwater team that played without an import, as Ricky Ledo was already sent home due to back-to-back sub-par performances in their first two games.

Without the presence of Ledo in the paint, the Beermen turned its point of attack into abusing the shaded lane which led to a momentum shift at the start of the third quarter.

After several baskets from eight-time MVP June Mar Fajardo and CJ Perez, Adams picked up where they left off, schooling every Blackwater defender thrown at him in the final seven minutes of the third.

Despite the tight coverages that the Bossing deployed, Adams still went unconscious and erupted for 16 points alone in the third canto which helped the Beermen enter the fourth with an 11-point advantage.

It was then all San Miguel as their massive third-quarter offensive avalanche sucked the life out of the Bossing, completely owning the matchup after outscoring them 34-25 to end the ball game.

Blackwater had a solid start in the first half despite not having Ledo underneath, equalizing San Miguel’s scoring output in the first 12 minutes of the game, 31-all, and even took a seven-point lead at the end of the first half.

However, Blackwater’s firepower went short in the second half and just had no answers to Adams’ deep offensive bag who almost single-handedly outscored them in the third period.

Backstopping Adams’ 50-point piece was Perez who contributed 14 points, Fajardo who chipped in another double-double performance of 13 markers and 14 rebounds, and Jerico Cruz added 12.

On the other hand, the 1-2 punch of Troy Rosario and Sedrick Barefield led the way for the Bossing, combining for 41 points, 25 and 16, respectively.
