The search is on for police officers and units in Western Visayas that showed exemplary performance in 2020.
In celebration of the 120th Police Service Anniversary on August 6, 2021 the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is looking for outstanding personnel and best performing units all over the region.
The competition will gather units and individuals to vie for awards in different categories.
Nominees will be evaluated based on their performance, achievements, and contribution to the attainment of the PNP’s mission.
At stake are individual awards that include:
* Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration
* Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Operation
* Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration
* Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Operation
* Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration
* Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operation
* Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration
* Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operation
* Best Non-Uniformed Personnel-Supervisory Level
* Best Non-Uniformed Personnel-Non-Supervisory Level.
Aside from assessing their performance, an interview will also be done to determine the winner.
For unit awards, the categories are
* Best Police Provincial Office (PPO)
* Best City Police Office Numbered Police Stations; Best Component City
* Best Municipal Police Station
* Best Regional Mobile Force Company
* Best Provincial Mobile Force Company
* Best City Mobile Force Company
* Best National Operational Support Unit-Regional Category
* Best National Administrative Support Unit-Regional Category.
For the unit awards, the participants will be judged according to their unit performance evaluation rating and the parameters formulated by the PRO6 Sub-Selection Board for unit awardees.
Special awards and citations will be determined by the Selection Board based on the parameters they have crafted.
It is deemed that the competition will be an avenue to showcase the accomplishments of PRO-6 units and personnel.
It is also seen to magnify the credibility of the PNP as a premier law enforcement agency.
Boards will be created to set the categories, criteria, parameters, guidelines, and timetable for the selection process.
The PRO-6 Selection Board is headed by Colonel Allan Nobleza, PRO-6 deputy regional director for administration, with Colonel Martin E Defensor Jr., PRO-6 chief directorial staff, as the vice chairman and over-all supervisor.
The winners in the regional level will be endorsed to represent PRO-6 to the Selection of the Best Individual and Unit Awards at the national level.
Deadline for submission of nominees is on June 3, 2021.
