It has come to the attention of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that entities on the social media site Facebook, by the names of SEC Registration Assistance and SEC Registration Assistance Support, have been collecting fees from the public in exchange for services that are given for free by the Commission, and have been using the official SEC logo in their social media posts.
Please be informed that the SEC is not, in any way, connected or affiliated with SEC Registration Assistance, SEC Registration Assistance Support, or other entities offering similar services.
The public is hereby advised that the processing for company registration at the SEC is readily available online through the SEC Electronic Simplified Processing of Application for Registration of Company (eSPARC).
Payments for transactions with the SEC must be made through the Commission’s official payment channels at the SEC Main Office in Pasay City, through Land Bank of the Philippines branches, or online through the Electronic System for Payment to SEC (eSPAYSEC).
Be informed further that the SEC logo, as appearing above, is duly registered with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) on April 2016 as signed by the NHCP Chair and the Office of the President.
The Commission has not recognized/authorized the use of the official SEC logo by the said entities. Any unauthorized use or appropriation for business or personal exploitation thereof by individuals or entities without written permission, endorsement or approval by the Commission shall be severely dealt with by law and may incur criminal liability or otherwise sanctioned or penalized accordingly.
In view thereof, the public is hereby advised to exercise caution in dealing with any individual or group of persons who use the official SEC logo in its social media accounts. The public is further advised or discouraged NOT TO TRANSACT in any activities or services being offered by aforesaid entities/individuals and to TRANSACT or COMMUNICATE concerns about SEC matters only through the contact details provided at the official SEC website at www.sec.gov.ph, or through the following official social media pages:
