BACOLOD CITY – In Barangay Bungahin, Isabela, Negros Occidental, a police operation led to the arrest of three individuals, including a senior citizen, for possessing P102,000 worth of suspected shabu last Wednesday.
The suspects include a 43-year-old woman from Binalbagan and two men, ages 41 and 60, whose names have been withheld by the authorities.
Police recovered eight sachets of the suspected substance, totaling 15 grams, alongside P500 in marked money and P300 in cash.
Police Major Ar-jay Dangarang, the Isabela town police chief, stated that the main suspect, a woman, had been under surveillance for several months due to suspicions of her involvement in illegal activities.
Despite not being a permanent resident of Isabela, she frequented the town, noted Dangarang.
The woman, previously arrested and released through plea bargaining for similar offenses, will now face charges for the sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs. Her accomplices are likely to be charged with illegal possession.
In a related incident, police in Barangay Poblacion, Bago City, apprehended a minor on Tuesday in a separate drug bust, confiscating five grams of suspected marijuana valued at P600, P200 in marked money, and P100.
