From last month’s P22 million worth of seized methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, this month’s illegal drug haul only amounted to nearly P3.5 million.

The series of drug stings is part of Police Regional Office (PRO) 6’s Birada Birada Semana, which ran from September 4 to 10.

Birada Semana is a weeklong enhanced managing police operations (E-MPO) and focused police operation on anti-criminality, wanted persons, illegal drugs, and illegal gambling.

Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, said that the high volume of illegal drugs confiscated in the last two weeks of August affected last week’s drug supply.

Thus, the decrease in the illegal drug confiscation last week.

“The illegal drug operations prior to the Birada Semana made the supply scarce last week,” Borio said.

During this month’s Birada Semana, different PRO-6 units only conducted 52 operations, which is lower than last month’s 78.

From 111 arrested persons last month, it went down to only 68.

The seized illegal drugs weighed 514.278 grams with a standard drug price value of P3,497,090.

Last month’s drug hail was at 3.277 kilograms worth P22.289 million.

As usual, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) topped the most number of operations at 23 while Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Iloilo City PO did 7 operations each.

The Iloilo PPO only conducted five from last month’s 20.

Capiz PPO conducted 4; Guimaras PPO; and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6, Antique PPO, and Aklan PPO conducted one operation each.
