The Socio-Economic Research and Development Analytics Center-University of the Philippines Visayas (SERDAC-UPV) organized three training-workshops to help researchers broaden their knowledge and appreciation in conducting research using various methods. The training-workshops covered Value Chain Analysis, Methods of Data Analysis, and Profitability Analysis.
The Training-Workshop on Value Chain Analysis was successfully conducted via Zoom last 11-13 January 2023. Prof. Julieta delos Reyes and Dr. Rhea Gumasing, both from the University of the Philippines Los Baňos, served as the resource persons for this training course.
The training generally aimed to develop the knowledge and skills of researchers in the region on Value Chain Analysis.
This three-day course was successfully participated by 22 participants from various organizations in Western Visayas, particularly from members of the Western Visayas Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESVAARRDEC).
The second training was on Methods of Data Analysis, conducted last 18-19 January 2023 via Zoom. Prof. Leah A. Araneta from the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics, University of the Philippines Visayas, served as the resource person on this two-day training course.
This training was conducted to enrich the knowledge of the training participants on basic methods of data analysis, which plays a vital role in conducting research. Twenty participants completed the training course.
Lastly, the training on Profitability Analysis was organized and delivered via Zoom last 1-3 February 2023 and successfully attended by 15 participants from various government organizations, state universities, and colleges in Region VI. Prof. Ilona M. Matias from Bicol University, Prof. Lylve Maliz Zeller, and Prof. Louie Marie T. Eluriaga from the University of the Philippines Visayas were the resource persons for this three-day training.
SERDAC-UPV would like to thank the resource persons for their shared knowledge and expertise on Value Chain Analysis, Methods of Data Analysis, and Profitability Analysis, as well as the active participation of the training participants, which made these training-workshop fruitful and successful.
