ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Seven municipalities in Capiz are free from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as of Dec 5, 2021.
Based on the data released by the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the COVID-free towns are Cuartero, Maayon, Pilar, Pontevedra, Sapian, Sigma, and Tapaz
The records also showed that the province has 44 active cases wherein 84.09 percent are mild and asymptomatic while 15.91% are moderate, severe to critical.
At present, the province has 9,509 confirmed cases from March 2020 to Dec 5, 2021, including 9,013 recoveries and 452 deaths.
Provincial Health Officer Dr Ramon Alex Nolasco said they are happy with the declining number of cases.
He said Capiz has a positivity rate of 2 to 3 percent due to the continuous vaccination against COVID-19.
But he advised the public not to be complacent and continue to observe the health protocols.
Meanwhile, the town of Pontevedra logged the most number of vaccinated persons so far.
The PHO said the town vaccinated 86.7 percent of the 34,658 target population. Roxas City has a vaccination rate of 84.7 percent of the 124,666 target population, while President Roxas inoculated 76.4 percent of the 22,151 target recipients.
Jamindan has the lowest rate at 48.8 percent of the 27,380 target population.
