BACOLOD City – “WINNING the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) this year is Cadiz City’s higher high,” said Mayor Salvador Esclante, Jr.
“It’s also an attestation that, we, in Cadiz, are (really) doing our best in serving our constituents within the parlance of public service,” Escalante added,
Cadiz City was among the 11 local government units in the province, including the provincial government of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, that won this year’s SGLG awards.
“We’ve been through a lot of tedious challenges but it’s worth it,” the mayor said.
“Cadiz’s sustainable ‘Serbisyo Caravan’ – our own brand of public service – which penetrates all our villages proved to be an effective public service in bringing government closer to people, especially to the poorest of the poor.”
“It’s a complete package – from birth registration to feeding program to medical consultation to farm aid demonstration to social welfare assistance to animal check-up, among others.”
“Cadiz, too,” Escalante stressed, ” is hyping its economic, tourism and investment promotion aimed at enticing more investors and tourists to come to our city.”
With its new slogan: Cadiz City: Land of Splendid Opportunities, the mayor is optimistic for a more enhanced economic growth in their city soonest.
Aside from the existing 132-megawatt solar farm in Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz, too, is set to host the very first floating solar farm in the Visayas.
It’s a 100-MW solar farm to be situated again in Tinampaan and courtesy of a joint venture between Zonal Renewables Corporation (ZRC) and the Montelibano-led A.M. Hijos, Inc (AMHI).
Escalante said they’re currently constructing a modern Cadiz City Sports Complex (CCSC) and, soon, they’ll be breaking ground for a 50-bed, P250-million city hospital – all in Barangay Tinampaan still.
While a 12-hectare Villa Tiglawigan, a housing project in line with President Bongbong Marcos, Jr.’s Pabahay Program Para sa mga Pilipino (4PH) is also rising in Barangay Tiglawigan.
It’ll be hosting houses for government workers and free lots for Cadiz’s informal settlers.
“It’s hitting two birds with one stone,” Escalante said.
Also, Cadiz City Children Park (CCCP) is currently getting a facelift, the mayor added.
A modern and a sort of an interactive Cadiz City Library (CCL) is opening its doors to the public in the coming months.
More so Cadiz will be opening its newest market very soon.
“Thus, beyond SGLG feat, we’re still committed to doing our best for our beloved Cadiznons,” Escalante related, capping, “In sum, we promise not to rest in doing lots of goodness just to advance the welfare of our people.”
