BACOLOD CITY – A 20-year-old woman was reunited with her boyfriend in jail after she was caught with suspected shabu hidden in bread during her visit to him at Kabankalan City Police Station in Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Police Captain Joelan Vinson, deputy chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, said police discovered the contraband during an inspection of jail visitors as part of security protocol.

Vinson noted that only one piece of bread from the plastic bag of pandesal she brought had a slice.

When police checked the sliced bread, they discovered a sachet of suspected shabu worth P6,800 concealed in one pandesal.

Vinson stated that according to the woman, her boyfriend had reportedly asked her to bring the contraband on her next visit.

Vinson added that the woman’s boyfriend was arrested early this month for a drug offense.

An investigation will be conducted to determine where the woman obtained the illegal drugs.

The woman will be charged with illegal possession of dangerous drugs, according to Vinson.
