BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) extended P20,000 in cash aid to two personnel who already recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Police Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo director, turned over P10,000 cash each to the two COVID survivors at the provincial police headquarters here yesterday.

Palgue said the cash aid came from the sponsors of the “1st Shoot for Peace” in the province organized by Nocppo.

They also provided one sack of rice and groceries each to the two policemen.

Palgue said this is their way of helping them while they risk their lives in the fight against the pandemic.

Parang Bayanihan sa Kapulisan,” he said, adding that “itong mga tao, sila ang haligi at pundasyon on the ground, kung mag-bog down ang haligi, this will collapse.”

He stressed that policemen should continue to stand firm amid the challenges today.

The two survivors were members of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, previously deployed to man hotels used as quarantine facilities here for returning Negrenses.

Currently, Nocppo has three COVID-19 cases, with two recoveries.

He said they will also provide the same assistance to the other COVID patient, who is now recovering from the infection.
