Siemens Healthineers pledges support to Philippine healthcare

During a momentous event at the German-Philippine Business Forum in Berlin, Siemens Healthineers, a pioneer in medical technology, presented three Letters of Intent (LOI) to the Philippine Government, marking a significant commitment to health innovation in the country.

The turnover was officiated by DTI Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual with Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in attendance, alongside key leaders from Siemens Healthineers.

Each LOI signifies Siemens Healthineers’ dedication to enhancing the Philippines’ healthcare sector.

The first LOI proposes the establishment of a partner hospital as a training hub, aimed at bridging the skills gap in radiology and improving healthcare quality with comprehensive mammography screening programs.

The second LOI focuses on the development of an Innovation Think Tank (ITT) hub, aiming to cultivate an inclusive innovation ecosystem. This initiative looks to unite students, researchers, and professionals to spur disruptive healthcare innovations.

Lastly, the third LOI explores strategic and digital partnerships to advance the nation’s healthcare infrastructure with cutting-edge digital solutions, including eHealth and AI.

Michael Schmermer, the company’s local President and Managing Director, expressed a visionary commitment: “At Siemens Healthineers, we aim to foster a future for the Philippines where advancements in healthcare open new possibilities.”

This partnership signifies a transformative step towards a sustainable and healthier future for every Filipino.
