Two distinguished graduates of West Visayas State University (WVSU) College of Communication (CoC) Batch 2000 were honored with the prestigious 2025 WVSU Most Outstanding Alumni Award.
Dr. Ryan Mark Molina, executive vice president and chief operations officer at STI West Negros University, was recognized for his contributions to Administration and Business.
Meanwhile, Sr. Leah Ann Espina was awarded for her impactful work in Spirituality and Religion.
This recognition follows the 2018 WVSU Outstanding Alumni Award for Government Service, which was given to journalism alumna Rhea Peñaflor.
Batch 2000 marked their 25th anniversary with a silver jubilee celebration this January 2025.
The jubilarians actively participated in the alumni homecoming events at WVSU, reaffirming their enduring connection to their alma mater.
The two-day celebration, held on January 27-28, 2025, featured a parade, an Ilonggo Music and Art Festival, and a Gala Night.
The highlight of the event was the Awarding of the 2025 WVSU Outstanding Alumni at the Iloilo Convention Center.
As part of their homecoming activities, Batch 2000 presented a donation to CoC Dean Prof. Rona Dhel C. Alingasa during a turnover ceremony.
During the jubilarian program, Batch 2000 adviser Dr. Ricky Abaleña III delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of giving back and staying connected to the university community.
