BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recently reassigned six police station commanders, with some officers set to undergo career-enhancing training.

Relieved from their posts effective September 5 were Police Captain Glenn Montaño of Police Station 2, Captain Dax Santillan of Police Station 6, Captain Greeky Cayao of Police Station 7, Major Eugene Tolentino of Police Station 8, and Captain Lelanie Lagoting of Police Station 10.

Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica, BCPO director, presided over the turnover of command at the BCPO headquarters on Thursday.

Tolentino took over Montaño’s post at Police Station 2, while Cayao assumed Tolentino’s former post at Police Station 8.

Santillan was reassigned to Cayao’s previous position at Police Station 7, while Captain Peter John Ramos, from the BCPO General Services Office, replaced Santillan at Police Station 6.

Police Captain Sherwin Galupar succeeded Lagoting as the head of Police Station 10.

On September 6, Police Captain Michael Tuburan of Police Station 9 was also relieved and replaced by Police Captain Lanie Deriada.

Additionally, Police Lieutenant Rowena Jean Magan of the City Community Affairs and Development Unit was reassigned to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), replacing

Police Lieutenant Liza Fe Vingno.

Police Lieutenant Ildefonso Leonardo was assigned as deputy chief of Police Station 8.

Coronica emphasized the importance of hands-on leadership among station commanders, encouraging them to deliver their best in their new roles while building a strong service reputation.

“This is a chance for the officers to do their best,” he said.

As the newly appointed BCPO director, Coronica highlighted his authority to reassign personnel without approval from the regional headquarters.

He expressed his gratitude to Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez for the trust and confidence placed in him to lead the city’s police force.

Coronica also acknowledged the city’s growth and the potential need for additional police stations.
Although no formal requests have been made, he is willing to assist the local government in establishing new stations.

He cited possible locations in Barangay Vista Alegre, Fortune Towne in Barangay Estefania, and Barangay Banago, noting that land and infrastructure requirements need to be discussed if plans materialize.
