The San Miguel Beermen confirmed that they will be replacing Diamond Stone as their import in the ongoing 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

After kicking off the import-laced conference with a disappointing 1-2 start, the Philippine Cup champions will be bringing in Devon Scott as their newest reinforcement effective in their next game.

Stone put up 24.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game but wasn’t enough to lead the Beermen to a convincing start.

It was former NBA lottery pick Thomas Robinson who was tapped by San Miguel first but an unfortunate injury forced the Beermen for a late replacement that landed them Stone.

Playing as SMB’s import in their next scheduled game is Scott who went undrafted during the 2016 NBA Draft but staged his own international tour as an import.

Scott gained vast experience playing around the world and rendered his services to Argentina, Mexico, Korea, and New Zealand.

The power forward bruiser had his last stint in Mexico with the basketball club Fuerza Regia and was a vital piece after averaging 13 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Scott is a usual present big man who likes to drain shots from the three-point area but also possesses old-school back to the basket post play.

If Scott couldn’t connect with his outside shots, he would usually go down to the left block and spark his offense from the shaded area.

San Miguel is hoping to turn things around once Scott arrives and practices with the team as they take on the Converge FiberXers on Friday.

The Beermen will still be without PBA’s only six-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) June Mar Fajardo after his medical team confirmed that he will be sidelined for at least a month after undergoing throat surgery.
