San Miguel Corporation teams in the PBA, the San Miguel Beermen, Magnolia Hotshots, and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel couldn’t bear to just idly stand by as the COVID-19 crisis affected their fellow Filipinos.

With the COVID-19 pandemic still on the rise in the country, players from the SMC teams initiated a drive to raise funds in order to help the frontliners who continue to serve the people despite the risk.

Aside from the fund-raising drive, these teams also put out sincere video messages for the frontliners, expressing how thankful they are to these people who combat the pandemic, putting the nation above their personal health.

Players like Arwind Santos and June Mar Fajardo of SMB, LA Tenorio, Mark Caguiao and Japeth Aguilar of GSM and Paul Lee of Magnolia were some of the players who posted video tributes.

SMC sports director Al Francis Chua announced the donation drive and added that the efforts they will be putting out can’t match what the frontliners are doing but somehow, they want to give back and show gratitude to them.

“Kami po sa San Miguel group, ang Ginebra, San Miguel, at Magnolia, ay nag-usap usap po. Kami po ay mag-raise ng funds para sa inyo. Sa maliit po na maitutulong po namin sa inyo, sana po ay makatulong ito sa inyong mga trabaho at sa pagligtas ng mga Filipino,” said Chua.
