The eight tribes that will compete in the much-anticipated Dinagyang 360 will give a teaser performance during the Opening Salvo of Dinagyang 2020 on Jan 10, 2020 at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.
Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) President Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida said each tribe will showcase a three to five-minute teaser-performance during the opening salvo.
“They will try to exhibit a 360 degrees performance but this will not be part of the competition yet,” he told Daily Guardian on Friday.
Aside from this, Peñaflorida said six barangay-based tribes that will also compete in the new Dagyang sa Calle Real will also give a sneak peak of their performances.
According to Peñaflorida, the opening salvo will also serve as a general practice to test the communication lines, traffic, routes, and blocking of tribes a few weeks before the staging of Dinagyang 2020.
“They will also use it as a blocking as well. Indi lang ni siya opening salvo but practice man sang support group halin communication, traffic flow, and tanan tanan,” he said.
The Dinagyang360 Tribes Competition which is set on January 26, 2020 will feature an upgraded performance of the eight participating tribes.
The eight competing tribes will perform in an arena type sequence and judges will be seated in different areas.
Meanwhile, “Dagyang sa Calle Real” scheduled on January 25, 2020 will bring back the usual merrymaking practice or “Dagyang” in the streets.
Miss Iloilo 2020 happens on January 23, 2020.
Peñaflorida said it will also be the first public appearance of eleven Miss Iloilo 2020 candidates.
The opening salvo which will start at 3 p.m. on January 10 will cap off with a fireworks display.
