BACOLOD City – Personnel of Police Station 1 ruled out foul play in the death of a soldier who was found inside his driven sports utility vehicle (SUV) parked in Barangay 10 here yesterday.
The victim was identified through his identification card as Sergeant Rodolfo Alemen, 46, of Barangay Estefania here.
Alemen was a member of the Philippine Army in Western Visayas, according to Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1.
Sarona said Alemen sent off a friend at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) port early Monday, Oct. 11.
But police suspected that Alemen was probably feeling ill that day, prompting him to park his car outside the port.
Alemen’s wife repeatedly called him but was not able to reach him until he was found lifeless by a tricycle driver and a port guard the following day.
Sarona said Alemen was believed to have died of hypertension.
His service firearm and other valuables were found in the vehicle.
