The Social Security System (SSS) inaugurated its newly relocated Iloilo-Central Branch at CityMall Pavia on October 24, marking a significant step toward improving accessibility and service delivery in the region.

SSS Officer-in-Charge and Executive Vice President for the Branch Operations Sector Voltaire P. Agas led the ceremony alongside Social Security Commissioner Eva B. Arcos and Pavia Vice Mayor Edsel G. Gerochi. They were joined by SSS Iloilo Central Branch Head Eva J. Cura, CityMall Pavia Supervisor Norlito S. Cuales Jr., and other key SSS officials.

Agas highlighted the branch’s enhanced accessibility, which is expected to benefit over 7,700 employers and nearly 369,000 members across 1,260 barangays in Pavia and nearby municipalities.

The new office spans 1,237.07 square meters, significantly larger than its previous location. This expansion enables the branch to facilitate an average of 750 daily transactions, operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“Several SSS branches face challenges with limited office size, leading to long queues and overcrowding. I am pleased we’ve relocated another branch to a better, more spacious site to address these concerns one office at a time,” Agas said.

Agas extended his gratitude to CityMall Management for providing the new branch with rent-free space for five years. He also acknowledged CityMall Commercial Centers, Inc. and co-founder Edgar “Injap” Sia for covering renovation costs, which saved SSS approximately PHP 77.56 million in rent and renovation expenses.

He commended the new office’s layout and its location in a shopping mall, which enhances member comfort and convenience.

“This relocation is a step toward establishing more expansive SSS offices that offer comfort and accessibility, ensuring that our members and beneficiaries receive quality service,” Agas concluded.
