A stab-riddled body was found in a sugarcane plantation in San Enrique, Iloilo on the morning of Feb. 23, but the victim remains unidentified.

Lt. Christy Val Dalde, San Enrique deputy police chief, said they received a report about the body around 7:30 a.m. Sunday in Barangay Paga.

A farmer identified only as Winston discovered the body while bringing his carabao to feed.

The victim was lying on his back in the field, with his leg pinned under a blue Rusi motorcycle.

Dalde said no documents were recovered to help identify the man.

The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, side, and back.

Investigators believe he may have been killed elsewhere and dumped at the site.

“There were no signs of struggle or blood splatters to indicate he was killed there,” Dalde said.

The body was found about 100 meters from the road in a secluded area where riders rarely pass.

Authorities estimate the victim had been dead for several hours before being discovered.

Meanwhile, Dalde said police received a missing person report from Calinog town.

“We’re just waiting for the family to confirm if the body is their kin,” he said.
