BACOLOD City – Police are investigating the alleged robbery of a business establishment in Barangay Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Thursday.
Police Lieutenant Joseph Jaro, deputy police chief of Bago City Police Station, said the unidentified perpetrators allegedly entered the store through an open sliding window on the second floor, located at the back portion of the building.
The robbers then proceeded to the receiving area and entered the vault room, where they removed the hard drive of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera and left it in a pail of water at the comfort room, Jaro said.
The perpetrators allegedly carted away the store’s cash sales amounting to P110,349, which the employees failed to place inside the safety deposit box, Jaro said.
Jaro said the perpetrators exited through the same window.
Police recovered from the scene the possible items left by the perpetrators such as a chisel, two flat screwdriver, two crowbars, a plastering trowel, a plastic clamp, a pair of gloves.
He said the employees who were on duty at that time were investigated and they also underwent a fingerprint examination.
Although there could be a possible inside job, Jaro said they could not conclude until they have proof.
“Daw kabalo gid abi ang nag sulod kung diin ang kwarta kag kung diin sila madiretso,” Jaro said.
