Strengthening conflict resolution forum for Capiz employers held

Key personnel from the human resource, operations and administrative departments of various companies in the province of Capiz participated in the Employers’ Forum at San Antonio Resort Brgy. Baybay, Roxas City, Capiz held recently.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 6 through its Capiz Field Office (DOLE RO 6-CFO) organized the activity which was attended by 52 participants from 41 establishments representing the education, construction, security and manpower services, retail services, manufacturing, hospital, and hotel, resort and restaurant sector.

With the theme “Strengthening Conflict Resolution in the Workplaces”, the capacity building activity focused significantly on imparting skills and knowledge on handling conflicts within the workplace.

TSSD-Labor Relations/Labor Standards Head Divine Grace B. Gabunas assisted the employers in achieving harmonious working environment through a comprehensive labor standards education on various type of employment, the four-fold test and labor cases jurisprudence that guide employers on their company policies and grievance mechanism.

The participants were also oriented with the Single Entry Approach to provide a speedy, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement procedure for all issues/complaints arising from employer-employee relations to prevent them from ripening into full blown disputes.

Engr. Jessel V. Valad-on, CFO Single Entry Assistance Desk Officer, explained the services which stresses the impartiality of the proceedings and the objective to reach a settlement agreement within the 30-day conciliation-mediation period.

DOLE-6 Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr. recognized the determination of the employers to maintain peace and harmony in their respective workplaces and is positive that the knowledge and skills in conflict resolution provided by DOLE will be beneficial to both the employers and the employees.
