BACOLOD City – Support, sympathy, and encouragement for ABS-CBN-Bacolod and its workers here flooded social media Tuesday evening after the National Telecommunication Commission ordered shutdown of the TV network.

Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan of La Castellana, Negros Occidental said “Of course I feel so sad because I have been part of ABS-CBN for quite some years, from production to news and current affairs.”

Magilimutan also used to bring ABS-CBN talents and stars to their town’s fiesta and other activities.

“Hoping and praying that soonest maghumok man ang balatyagon sang atun presidente kag mga lawmakers kag maka-operate liwat,” the mayor said.

She also said that ABS-CBN has been part of the lives of every Filipino not only for being one of the biggest news network in the media and showbiz industry but for its charities and support not only for the needy but during calamities happening in our country.

Leah Casuyon, a friend of an ABS CBN-Bacolod staff, said the network is already a part of everyone’s life.

“Hidlawun gid kami maglantaw sa dire nga channel especially those who are working at the station,” she said.

“Thank you for entertaining us through daily informative news. We’re so proud of you kapamilya. It’s not yet goodbye, I know things will work out soon.”

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said “I really expected that NTC would grant ABS-CBN provisional authority to operate until such time that Congress has made a decision on the network’s franchise renewal. ”

This was also the stand of the House Committee on Legislative Franchises, Lacson said.

Lacson also said that Congress should act on the matter judiciously.

“We are in the midst of a global pandemic crisis, this is not a good time to close a broadcast network which has been a constant source of news and information of the general public.”

Martian Muyco, a reporter of ABS-CBN here, said the news team is his second family.

Sa tunga sang gina atubang naton nga kabudlayan dala sang COVID-19 pandemic, kami nagapadayon sa pag alagad, sa pag serbisyo kag mismo nagarisgo sang amon ikaayong lawas kag sang amon pamilya, para lang madul-ong ang balita para sa pumuluyo,” Muyco said in his FB post.

He added “Everyday ang purpose lang gid namon is mag-alagad kag mag serbisyo sa isig-katawo (In the Service of the Filipino) gani mabug-at man para sa amon ang tanan nga nagakatabo subong. Personally, I don’t know what will happen. All I know is that I have a God that I can put my trust on. I know that He is merciful and just. We will continue to be of service in any way we can and we will continue to fight for what is right.”
