BACOLOD City – An alleged robber was killed by an unidentified gunman at Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte here early Monday.

Police withheld the name of the 17-year-old victim who was also a resident of Villamonte.

Major Charles Gever, head of Police Station 4, said the victim and the suspect saw each other while walking, prompting the former to run.

But the suspect chased the victim until he was cornered in a house where he was shot.

Gever said the victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.

Police recovered from the scene five empty shells and five slugs of alleged .45 caliber ammunitions.

Gever said the victim had many arrest warrants for robbery and theft.

In fact, he was arrested previously after he was caught in possession of a loose firearm.

But he was able to escape from the custody of the Social Development Center (SDC), where children in conflict with the law are placed, the station commander added.

Gever said the victim was also previously accused of physical injury.

He said they are still investigating the real motive behind the killing aside from looking into his criminal records.

Gever said they are eyeing two perpetrators.

“Gapangscrap man to ang nagtiro based sa nakakita,” he added.
