Suspected rebel nabbed for multiple attempted murder raps

An alleged New People’s Army (NPA) member was arrested evening of Jan. 11 in a hinterland village of Tubungan, Iloilo.

Abris Tacaisan, 34, a resident of Barangay Igcabugao, Igbaras, is facing charges for multiple attempted murder.

A member of the Suyak Platoon of the Komiteng Rehiyon-Panay (KR-P)’s Southern Front, Tacaissn was apprehended at Barangay Igtuble, a village 14 kilometers away from Tubungan town.

Members of Tubungan Municipal Police Station, together with the 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, arrested the suspect by virtue of an arrest issued by Judge Irene Banzuela-Didulo of RTC-6 Branch 67 Guimbal, Iloilo on June 7, 2022.

Bailbond is fixed at P120,000.

Captain Alberto Manguilimotan, Tubungan police chief, said Tacaisan was charged along with NPA leader Joven Ceralvo and three others.

The incident happened in 2020 in Guimbal, Iloilo.

Manguilimotan said the suspect might also be facing charges filed against Hamtic, Antique.
