BACOLOD CITY — The Talisay City government recognized ten corporations and ten individuals as outstanding taxpayers and citizens during the 27th Charter Anniversary and Pasidungog Festival 2025, which culminated on Feb. 11, 2025.

During the awards ceremony at Nature’s Village Resort, Mayor Neil Lizares said the event was a moment to honor individuals and businesses that have demonstrated excellence, dedication, and service to the community.

“The Pasidungog Awards is more than just recognition—it is a testament to the unwavering commitment of Talisaynons who continue to inspire others and contribute to our city’s progress,” Lizares said.

He emphasized that the awardees’ achievements serve as a beacon of hope and motivation for future generations.

“You have shown that with perseverance, integrity, and passion, greatness is within reach,” he added.

Lizares highlighted the significant contributions of the outstanding taxpayers, thanking them for their commitment to civic responsibility.

“Your support fuels our local economy, allowing us to build better infrastructure, provide quality services, and create opportunities for all. It has also inspired us to achieve prestigious recognitions, including the Seal of Good Local Governance Award for three consecutive years,” he said.

Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson commended Lizares for his visionary leadership, which he said has laid a strong foundation for Talisay’s growth.

He also extended his appreciation to the awardees, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling societal responsibilities.

“There is great honor in diligently fulfilling our duties, especially at a time when some regard such responsibilities as optional,” Lacson said.

To the outstanding corporate and individual taxpayers, Lacson underscored that taxes are the lifeblood of the government, ensuring the unhindered delivery of public services.

“Your consistent and dutiful tax compliance is proof of your commitment to the social contract between the government and its citizens,” he added.
