BACOLOD City – The City of Talisay in Negros Occidental was placed under State of Calamity last Wednesday by the Sanggunian Panlungsod (SP) after the New Year flashflood that affected thousands of residents.

In a zoom meeting, the Talisay City SP passed Resolution No. 01 Series of 2021 declaring the State of Calamity due to flood and the actual environmental disaster that occurred in several barangays in the city.

The resolution cited the validated report from the City Social Welfare and Development Office stating that the flood affected 17 barangays and displaced 4,661 families.
