Two brothers were arrested after they allegedly connived in selling illegal drugs early Friday morning at City Proper, Iloilo City.
The suspects were identified as Jeffrey Simeon, 49, and his brother, barangay tanod Jomarie Simeon, 48, both residents of Gen. Hughes St., City Proper district.
Members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) collared the suspects after they conspired in trading suspected shabu for P10,000.
Recovered from the suspects were 23 sachets of suspected shabu, the P10,000 buy bust money, P300 cash, weighing scale, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Daroca, RPDEU-6 chief, valued the seized substance at P204,000.
Village officials confirmed that Jeffrey is on their BADAC (Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council) watchlist.
But Jeffrey has been good in keeping his illicit activity secret until his arrest on Friday.
Police operatives believed that the suspect could have been sourcing his supply from the New Bilibid Prison that are sent through courier.
Jeffrey also admitted that he was into illegal drug use. In fact, he said he used drugs hours before his arrest.
The two suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
