The Philippines is positioning itself as a premier hub for innovation and trade, showcasing the ingenuity and world-class quality of Filipino products and services under the “Tatak Pinoy” (Proudly Filipino) brand.

This vision was emphasized by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina A. Roque during the 5th Quezon City International Business Conference (QCIBC) on Feb. 28.

“We are not simply building businesses; we are building a brand. A brand that represents the heart and soul of the Filipino people. The Tatak Pinoy Act is a mark of excellence, a guarantee of quality, and a symbol of our dedication to global competitiveness. We must put Tatak Pinoy into action,” Roque said.

The Tatak Pinoy strategy is anchored on five key pillars: human resources, infrastructure, technology and innovation, investments, and sound financial management. These pillars aim to strengthen local enterprises, boost exports, attract investments, and elevate the country’s position in the global value chain.

Roque highlighted that this strategy aligns with increasing foreign investor interest, citing her recent engagements in Davos, Switzerland, where numerous investors expressed enthusiasm for the Philippine market.

The Tatak Pinoy Act also empowers micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing enhanced access to global networks. With foreign buyers increasingly sourcing from MSMEs, the Act creates valuable opportunities for Filipino businesses to expand exports and strengthen their international presence.

This momentum is further bolstered by the government’s aggressive pursuit of free trade agreements, which are prioritized for completion under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration. These agreements aim to unlock new opportunities for economic growth and expansion.

In closing, Secretary Roque urged all stakeholders to unite in positioning the Philippines as a global industrial powerhouse—one that elevates the Filipino brand, establishes Tatak Pinoy as a symbol of global excellence, and showcases the nation’s top offerings.

This resonates with the 5th QCIBC’s theme, “Building Tomorrow Together,” which underscores a shared commitment to future-proof businesses, while promoting sustainable development, and fostering a more equitable economy.
