Team Lakay continues to display excellence but this time, outside the fighting cage.
Headed by chief trainer Mark Sangiao, Team Lakay fighters including former world champion Eduard Folayang spearheaded their donation drive to fellow gym members and the people of Benguet who are currently in need.
Also with the aid of congressman Eric Yap of the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS), the squad converted the Lakay Central Gym as a temporary center for distributing relief goods.
Coach Sangiao and Team Lakay will first distribute rice to their gym members and people residing in La Trinidad and Baguio, their home for nearly two decades.
“Those that we’ve collected will be going to some of our members who are short of supplies right now, while also focusing on other barangays both in La Trinidad and Baguio City,” Sangiao said.
Also, Sangiao added that this is just the first batch of goods they will be handing-out and the next batches will be arriving a week after.
“We’re still collecting from other Team Lakay members who have extra provisions, and then we’ll distribute it next week,” Sangiao added.
