PAVIA, ILOILO – A 17-year-old boy with a history of theft was arrested on the evening of August 14 in Pavia, Iloilo, during a drug buy-bust operation.
The suspect, identified only as “AJ,” from Barangay Inangayan, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo, was apprehended in Barangay Amparo, Pavia, after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 2,000.
Members of the Pavia Municipal Police Station arrested the teenager and recovered six more sachets of suspected shabu, along with various non-drug items.
Major Dadje Delima, Pavia police chief, stated that the seized shabu weighed approximately 13 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 88,400.
Police records indicate that the suspect has been involved in multiple theft and robbery incidents across the second and third districts of Iloilo, particularly in the towns of Pavia, Sta. Barbara, Cabatuan, and Janiuay.
AJ has been known for his involvement in “Akyat-Bahay” (housebreaking) incidents in Pavia since the age of 12.
The suspect has been turned over to the custody of the Pavia Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
However, he will still face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
