A 19-year-old boy accused of sexual assault was arrested noon of March 6 in Passi City, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect as Jess Palermo, a resident of Barangay Magdungao, Passi City.
Members of Passi City Police Station attracted the suspect by virtue of an arrested for sexual assault under Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) in relation to RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
Judge Vicente Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on April 5, 2021.
Bailbond for his temporary liberty is at P200,000.
Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Pamonag, Passi City police chief, said the suspect was accused of sexually molesting an 8-year-old girl in Passi City in 2020. He left the town after the filing of the charges.
But he was recently monitored to have returned to the area.
Palermo is now detained.
