BACOLOD City – A 13-year-old boy died after he was stabbed by his friend in Barangay Tangub here last Wednesday over a hacked social media account.

Police withheld the name of the minor-victim.

Police Staff Sergeant Cris Daguismol, investigator of Police Station 8, said the victim was playing in a computer shop, while the 18-year-old suspect identified as Edmon Obregon waited for him outside.

When the victim came out of the shop, Obregon allegedly attacked him with an ice pick, hitting his left armpit.

The victim ran but the suspect caught up with him and stabbed him again four times on his back.

Obregon fled, throwing away the weapon he used. But he later surrendered to the police through the help of his family.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Daguismol said the suspect alleged that the victim hacked his Messenger account, and used it to send lewd photos to his other friends.

But the police have yet to know how the victim was able to hack the suspect’s account.

Aside from that, the suspect also alleged that the victim bullied him, the investigator added.

“Migohay man ni sila pero kay gin hack kuno ka biktima iya account,” Daguismol said.

Daguismol said the suspect is detained at the police station.
