UPV inks pact with the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences

The University of the Philippines Visayas represented by Chancellor Dr. Clement Camposano and the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Csaba Gyuricza signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation at the Department of Science and Technology, Taguig, Metro Manila on November 17, 2021.

The two universities have mutually agreed to cooperate and work together for understanding and leading in strengthening both institutions through identified development activities. They also agreed to promote, strengthen and enhance cooperation in the areas of research, education, and faculty development.

Specifically, the cooperation will focus on the following:

1) Exchange of students for study and research at both universities;

2) Exchange of professors, scholars, and administrators through mutual visits;

3) Exchange of information and publication on education and research; and

4) Implementation of cooperative education and research.

Witnessing the signing were Ambassador of Hungary to the Philippines, H.E. Dr. Titanilla Tóth; Philippine Department of Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato Dela Peña.

Attending the MOU signings were Hungarian Deputy Speaker His Excellency Istvan Jakab and DOST Secretary for International Cooperation, Dr. Leah J Buendia; Assistant Deputy Executive Director for OED-ARMSS, PCAARRD, Dr. Melvin B Carlos; and other officials of DOST.

Joining Camposano from UP Visayas were Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Philip Ian Padilla and Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension Dr. Harold Monteclaro. (Ms. AL Ramirez, IPO)
