BACOLOD City – An 18-year-old girl was arrested in a buy-bust operation which yielded around 30 grams of suspected shabu worth P204,000 at Purok Malinong, Barangay San Juan, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Operatives of the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-6 launched the operation against Abigail Arellano of Barangay Cambaog, Hinigaran town.

Police also recovered from her P1,000 cash, fake money bills used as marked money, and a motorcycle.

Police Captain Hancel Lumandaz, town police chief, tagged Arellano as a newly identified drug personality.

Lumandaz said Arellano was probably being monitored by the operatives for quite some time.

“Subong lang siya siguro na timingan,” he added.

Lumandaz said police initially targeted her live-in partner, but she was tasked to do the transactions.

Arellano’s live-in partner is a high value target, but police did not reveal his name.

Lumandaz said the couple reportedly distributes the contraband to nearby municipalities and some areas in the southern part of the province.

Arellano has yet to be reached for comment.
