BACOLOD City – Police are looking for the unidentified culprits who stole a manhole cover owned by a telecommunications firm in Barangay Mandalagan here last Monday.
This, after Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya talked to Police Colonel Manuel Placido, director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), about the incident.
Gasataya personally inspected the area Monday night, and coordinated with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to place a temporary cover on the manhole and warning signs.
Some netizens expressed their concern about the open manhole and posted photos on social media to warn motorists of the danger.
The BCPO is already trying to identify the two persons on board a tricycle who allegedly stole the manhole cover which was captured by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera.
Meanwhile, Gasataya called on junkshop owners to inform the authorities if somebody sells to them a manhole cover.
