BACOLOD City – Ten persons were arrested while P319,600 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental last Friday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental arrested five persons after they dismantled an alleged drug den at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 here.

The drug bust yielded 12 grams of suspected shabu worth P81,600, improvised lighters, a pair of scissors, an improvised plastic straw scoop, a bamboo clip, a bundle of aluminum foil, and marked money.

Also arrested here in Barangay Tangub was Jonathan Descutido who allegedly yielded 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000.

Police Captain Melvin Mercado, head of Police Station 8, said the suspect was previously arrested for illegal possession of dangerous drugs and was able to post bail.

Mercado said they subjected him to a buy-bust operation after receiving information about his alleged return to engaging in illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, four persons were also apprehended in Kabankalan City, and the towns of Pontevedra, and E.B. Magalona, which resulted in the confiscation of P136,000 worth of suspected shabu.
