ROXAS CITY, Capiz – 2,914 Ivisanons availed of the various training programs of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Aug 6, 2019.
Capiz TESDA Director Engr. Abdel Bakhri Hajan said they are looking forward to serve more Capiceños through its newly-launched Capiz Training Outreach Program (CapizTOP).
Ivisan is the second town in Capiz to have availed of the one-day crash course training on Computer Literacy-Photoshop, Basic Emergency Response, Aircon Cleaning, Cooking, Baking, and Basic First Aid with Dengue Awareness, courtesy of TESDA here.
Hajan said the program of reaching the communities is gaining ground because of the support and active participation as training providers of the Technical-Vocational Institutions under the Capiz TESDA School Association (CAPTESA).
“Indeed TVIs are just fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities as they are offering their services for free to help more and uphold civic spirit,” he said.
On the other hand, Ivisan mayor Felipe Neri Yap has lauded TESDA for bringing practical training services to his residents.
“Nagpapasalamat po kami kay Secretary Isidro Lapeña at nasali ang bayan ng Ivisan sa programang CapizTOP na hatid sa amin ng TESDA Provincial Office. Lahat po ng aming Barangay ay represented at ito po ay patunay na ang TESDA Abot Lahat. Maraming Salamat po Secretary,” he said.
Yap added that “this undertaking on top of TESDA’s regular training programs through scholarships is a great initiative as people in the various towns of the province will learn and know more about the agency as the authority in the field of technical-vocational education.”
He is also looking forward to the establishment of a bakery as a livelihood for a group of 20 individuals coming from the underprivileged sector who will be trained on Bread and Pastry Production (NC II), which Hajan had also affirmed. (PIA)
