BACOLOD City – With the Christmas holidays just around the corner, the city’s Task Force Botagoy, which monitors the processing and sale of meat products, intensified inspections in different markets in the city.
The task force led by City Agriculturist and lawyer Goldwyn Nifras conducted a surprise inspection at the Libertad Public Market during the weekend.
Nifras said they did not find products that originated from areas with reported cases of African swine fever.
Meanwhile, Bacolod City Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran is set to call for a meeting today, Nov 18, to discuss preventive measures to make sure that the African swine fever does not enter the city.
