The music we share

By  Klaus Döring

Sharing music is personal because music speaks, it feels, it breathes. And it always says something about you.

Music is the universal language of mankind. Where words fail, music speaks. Life is like a beautiful melody, only the lyrics are messed up. Music is the language of the spirit.

Music is life itself. One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. Each time you play music, it becomes new. This is one way I’ve been thinking about memory and the present, past and future times all fitting together.

Music alone can abolish differences of language or culture between two people and invoke something indestructible within them. Music brings us together, helping us reflect upon who we are, where we have come from, and what lies ahead.

Where words fail, music speaks. Music is the universal language of mankind. I like beautiful melodies telling me terrible things. Beethoven tells you what it’s like to be Beethoven and Mozart tells you what it’s like to be human.

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything. Without music, life would be a mistake.

Someone once asked me: “Why do you love music so much?”, I replied: Because it’s the only thing that stays when everything and everyone is gone.

I started playing the piano when I was four. I ended up as radio host in different radio stations in the Philippines with radio shows such as “Classics at night” and the German Deutsche Welle (now DW) international radio station.

A daily must is publishing anything about music via my blog www.klausdoringsclassicalmusic.blogspot.com.

“The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between.”  said one of my favorite composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” This is from  Plato. Yes, Plato’s quote is among the music quotes that stay true even today!

Since music has inspired humans for generations, there are many quotes about music created around it. Reading different kinds of Musical quotes, such as meditation quotes and motivational quotes, can be a great way to facilitate your understanding of a concept. Music quotes are no exception!
