BACOLOD City – Police Station 10 added to the list of police stations here that already have a standard Philippine National Police (PNP) building.
The new building was unveiled in its new location in Barangay Felisa last Thursday.
Captain Lalaine Lagoting, head of Police Station 10, said the three-story building costs P10 million and was funded through the Office of Abang Lingkod Partylist Rep. Stephen Paduano.
Lagoting said the construction of the building started in March 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic and was only completed this year.
It is situated in a 500 square meter lot donated by Mr. Roy Villa, according to Lagoting.
Lagoting said that she is planning to convert the previous police station in Barangay Handumanan as a sub-station of policemen assigned for quick response to emergencies, considering the number of residents under the station’s jurisdiction.
She said that she would have to talk with the lot owner first to determine if they would allow it.
She said the new PNP building is a few distance from the previous police station, but it’s still strategic and accessible to the residents of Barangays Handumanan and Felisa.
With this development, Lagoting said that policemen will no longer have limited spaces for their administrative work, as they will now have their respective offices, a parking space, and a roof deck with a beautiful view of Mt. Kanlaon.
Last month, Police Station 5 in Barangay Granada also inaugurated the same building, as well as Police Station 7 in Barangay Mansilingan on October 25.
The city has 10 police stations, and 7 others have yet to have the standard PNP building.
