Three alleged druggies fall in Iloilo drug stings

Three more drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Iloilo province Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as Viobert Lasanas, 41, of Barangay Abangay, Janiuay, Iloilo; Nestor Ballentos, Jr., 33, of Barangay Botong, Badiangan, Iloilo; and Joel Adolacion, 39, of Barangay Calansanan, Badiangan.

Members of Janiuay Police Station arrested Lasanas 3:20 p.m. of Sunday at Sitio Kinambud, Barangay Matag-ub, Janiuay.

Lasanas, who has been on the police watchlist of illegal drugs personality, allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Also recovered from his possession were two sachets of suspected shabu and P8,200 marked money.

Meanwhile, members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) and Sta. Barbara Police Station arrested two Badiangan residents 3:30 pm Sunday at Barangay Duyan-Duyan, Sta. Barbara.

Ballentos and Adolacion allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P15,100.

They further yielded two sachets of suspected shabu, a black sling bag, two mobile phones, a driver’s license, two lighters, a small brown envelope, and a Suzuki multi-cab.

Police operatives valued the seized drugs at P45,000.

The three suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
