Three arrested for drugs, guns in Capiz

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Three individuals were arrested for illegal drug and firearms possession in separate operations on Monday, May 20, in President Roxas, Jamindan, and Roxas City.

In Brgy. Hanglid, President Roxas, police arrested a man after allegedly finding an unlicensed firearm and illegal drugs in his possession. The suspect, known as alias Toto, was involved in a motorcycle accident.

When police responded to the scene, they discovered a .45 caliber pistol loaded with six live rounds, a magazine, and three sachets of suspected shabu.

The suspect is currently under hospital arrest, while the illegal items are in the custody of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

In a separate operation, a former inmate was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation on Monday afternoon in Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City. The police identified the suspect as Mark Delco, 29, of the same village.

Punta Tabuc Punong Barangay Nestor Buenviaje confirmed that Delco was previously arrested and jailed in 2022 for violating RA 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

During the operation, police recovered a .45 caliber pistol, a magazine with three live rounds, six sachets of suspected shabu, P5,000 in buy-bust money, and a motorcycle.

Delco is currently in the custody of the Roxas Component City Police Station, and charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against him.

Additionally, police arrested a laborer in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Agambulong, Jamindan.

The suspect, known as alias “Hapon,” 34, of Barangay San Vicente, Jamindan, was found in possession of five sachets of suspected shabu and P1,500 in buy-bust money.

He will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
