Three-day drug haul nets P265-K worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Police seized P265,367.60 worth of suspected shabu from 19 persons in separate buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental from July 7 to 9, 2021.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated P69,240 worth of suspected shabu from seven persons, while P196,127.60 worth of the same contraband was seized from 12 individuals in the province.

The drug bust operations here were conducted at Barangays 16, 27, Handumanan, and Taculing by personnel of Police Stations 1, 4, 6, and 10, respectively.

The same operations were also launched in the cities of Cadiz, Silay, Victorias, Bago, Himamaylan, La Carlota, and Escalante, and the towns of Pontevedra, La Castellana, Manapla, and Isabela in the province.

Silay City has the biggest drug haul covering the said period, with the recovery of P54,400 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust at Barangay Lantad yesterday.

Police arrested Geralyn Aguas, 34, of Barangay Balaring, a street level individual, who allegedly yielded seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing eight grams, and the P1,500 marked money, according to a report from Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.
