Three dead, two injured in hacking, shooting

BACOLOD City – Three persons were killed while two others were wounded in separate hacking and shooting incidents over the weekend.

In Isabela town, Rodolfo Galay, 79, of Barangay San Agustin was found dead inside his house Saturday night.

Captain Joseph Partidas, town police chief, said two unidentified men armed with a cane cutter hacked the victim to death.

Partidas said they already have a lead on the incident but refused to divulge more details for the safety of the victim’s family.

The following day, Ricky Morales, 52, of Barangay III, Himamaylan City, a tricycle driver was shot by four unidentified men on board two motorcycles at Barangay IV.

Lieutenant Alfred Mansoy, deputy police chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, said Morales was on his way home when he was waylaid by the perpetrators.

The victim suffered four gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Mansoy said they have no lead yet on the motive and identity of the perpetrators.

In Silay City, Fernando Marcelino, 36, of Antique died, while Joemar Canarias, 33, and Rayan Eria, 33, both residents of Barangay E.Lopez were wounded after they figured in hacking and shooting incidents at Barangay E. Lopez yesterday.

Police identified the suspects as Warren Delicana, 33, and Edmond Moratas, 38, both residents of Cadiz City, who are detained at the police station.

Marcelino suffered stab and hack wounds while Canarias and Eria sustained gunshot wounds.
