BACOLOD City – Three persons were killed while two others were injured in separate shooting incidents in the cities of Victorias and Bago, Negros Occidental over the weekend.
In Victorias City, Regie Loquinario, 34; and Jony Solatorio, 34, both residents of Barangay 10, died after they figured in a commotion with co-workers at the said village last Saturday.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Eduardo Corpuz, city police chief, said that Loquinario and Solatorio suffered gunshot wounds in the chest and head, respectively.
Wounded were a 17-year-old boy, whose name was withheld, and Ryan Certicio, 28, both residents of the said village.
The commotion stemmed from the altercation among hacienda workers because of old grudges.
“Dugay na abi na may tema-tema sa ila,” Corpuz said.
Prior to the incident, Corpuz said that the group reportedly had a drinking session when an altercation ensued between them.
When they went home, they allegedly took their guns and returned to their workplace where the incident happened, Corpuz said.
Corpuz said they arrested one of the five suspects involved in the shooting last Sunday. A homemade shotgun was recovered.
Corpuz said the four other suspects who are at large were already identified.
Meanwhile, in Bago City, Raymund Pasigado, 27, of Barangay Sagasa was killed for no apparent reason by four suspects at the said village last Sunday.
Police Lieutenant Joseph Jaro, deputy police chief for operations of Bago City Police Station, said that Pasigado was inside their house with his mother and two siblings when one of the four suspects identified as Sunny Gamoyao Sr. entered and shot him.
Jaro said that Pasigado tried to escape but he was chased by Gamoyao who shot him twice again.
Pasigado suffered three gunshot wounds in the armpit, back, and leg. He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
Jaro said that Gamoyao’s son, Sunny Jr. tried to hack Pasigado’s younger brother, but he failed to hit the latter.
Gamoyao’s son, along with Ramil Merioles Sr., and his son Ramil Jr. served as lookout when the incident happened, Jaro said.
The suspects fled on board two motorcycles and remain at large.
Police recovered from the scene a slug of .9mm ammunition.
Jaro said the suspects and the victim had no previous misunderstanding that could have triggered the killing.
“Siguro basi sabog sa ilimnon or kung ano man, kay wala man sila kaagi away or may gin baisan, tripping siguro,” Jaro said.
He said they are checking the background of the suspects to check if they are on the list of suspected drug personalities.
