Three face illegal drug raps

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Three persons are facing charges for illegal drug pushing after they were arrested in separate drug buy bust operations Thursday and Friday at barangays Punta Tabuc and Banica here.

Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against Marjun Vasquez, 38, of Brgy. Lanot and Ricardo Alovera, 40, of Brgy. Inzo Arnaldo, both here.

Police Lt. Glenn Soliman, team leader of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) said it took more than one month of monitoring and surveillance before they busted Vasquez and Alovera.

Vasquez was arrested in a drug bust operation at Sitio Calipayan in Brgy. Punta Tabuc.

Recovered from him were six sachets of suspected shabu valued at P56,000. Also recovered from him was the P11,500 marked money, a wallet, a cellphone, and a motorcycle.

On the other hand, Alovera yielded 10 sachet of suspected shabu and the P11,200 marked money, a wallet, a cellphone, and a motorcycle.

Soliman said the suspects were street level peddlers (SLI).

The two are detained at Roxas City police station.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Capiz Police Provincial Office collared another suspected peddler on Friday at Atila Balgos avenue in Barangay Banica here.

Police Major Francisco Paguia, PDEU team leader, identified the suspect as Jhezan Balcena of Mckinley St., Barangay 1.

Recovered from Balcena were 12 sachets of suspected shabu, P3,100 marked money, and a tricycle.
