Three patients from the town of Caluya in Antique have successfully defeated the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), based on the latest advisory of the Department of Health Center for Health Development in Western Visayas (DOH-CHD 6) on Thursday.
According to Dr. May Ann Soliva-Sta. Lucia, head of the Health Promotion of DOH-CHD 6, the three new recoveries are WV Patient Nos. 35, 43, and 44 who are all form Caluya, Antique.
“Based on Case Bulletin No. 35, three more patients have recovered from Covid-19. They are WV Patient No. 35 who is a 74-year-old male from Caluya, Antique; WV Patient No. 43 who is a 45-year-old male from Caluya, Antique; and WV Patient No. 44, a 59-year-old male from Caluya Antique,” Sta. Lucia said in an online press briefing on Thursday.
The three new survivors bring the total COVID-19 recoveries in the region to 27, which accounts for 41 percent of the recoveries in the region, according to Sta. Lucia.
The 27 recoveries include nine patients from Iloilo province; four from Aklan, Antique, and Bacolod City; three recoveries from Capiz; two recoveries from Iloilo City; and one from Negros Occidental.
As of Thursday, Sta. Lucia said no new additional cases were also recorded in the region.
“Out of the 183 laboratory results released, 181 new tests yielded negative while two repeat tests also came out as negative. This is good news because we have zero new cases,” she added.
The total COVID-19 cases in the region remain at 66 with nine deaths.
